San Martín del Castañar has its own official geocache: "El Cigüeñal de la Calzanueva" (GCBFVMA), on the path toward San Miguel de Robledo. It pays tribute to one of the last well-sweeps left in the area — the ingenious system of poles and granite counterweights once used to draw water from wells, before motorized pumps arrived in the 1980s.
